Adisadel College
Adisadel College is an Anglican educational institution in Ghana for boys
founded on the 4th of January 1910 and modelled on the typical English Public
School. It is the second oldest public secondary school or high school in Ghana.
The school is in Cape Coast, the capital town of the Central Region which boasts
of the finest secondary and technical schools in Ghana.
Adisadel currently has a diverse student body. Numbering 2000 in 10 boarding
houses, the students come from various social and economic background.
Majority of the students are from Ghana. However, there are a few exchange
students and others from various parts of the world. All enrolling freshmen have
a grade one or better in the Basic Education Certificate Examination. Though
students are introduced to a rigorous academic program they are also encouraged
to pursue personal development through the numerous extracurricular activities.

Admission Requirements
Applicants from Junior Secondary
School must obtain at least grade one in six subjects of the Basic Education
Certificate Examination (BECE) offered by the West African Examination Council.
Foreign applicants must present credentials equivalent to the Ghanaian BECE.
There are however very limited places for applicants abroad. Wards of alumni
applying from abroad are advised to take the Basic Education Certificate
Examination. Most enrolling first year students are of 14years of age. There is
no age requirement.
Admission is solely based on merit.
Courses of Study
I.
General Arts Government or
French, Elective Maths, Economics and Geography OR Literature and English,
History, Government or French, and Christian Religious Studies.
II.
Business Elective Maths or Government, Economics, Principles of Accounting,
Introduction to Business Management and Business Maths & Costing.
III.
Science Geography or Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Elective Maths.
IV.
Visual Arts General Knowledge in Art, Ceramics, Graphics, Picture Making and
Economics.
In addition to the above, each
student is to take courses in the following core subjects: English Language,
Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Religious & Moral
Education and Physical Education.
